Brad Oddo
While Brad Oddo's family has a great history in Kansas City business, he chose a different entrepreneurial path back in 2002 by founding Basys Processing. It has grown into one of the largest merchant credit card processing companies in the U.S. Brad was also recognized recently by Ingram’s magazine as part of the 40 Under Forty, the best of Kansas City’s young executive talent. He credits his father's mentoring, and thoughtfully defines success this way: "I believe my life is successful if the world is a better place for having me in it. I'm a successful father if the world is a better place because of the children I have reared. I'm a successful business leader if my team feels they work for an ethical company, in a great environment, where they know they are appreciated and our clients know they are important."
Realizing the demands of a new business and family take precedence, Brad also serves as head coach for his sons' baseball team and helps on other teams year-round, as close as he comes to a hobby. He is also writing two books; one for people looking for the best way to live their lives and enrich those around them, the other about lessons learned and his perspective on life. He doesn't expect to get rich off of the sales however, because he plans to print exactly three copies - one each for his children, Brandon, Brooks, and Chase.
