Corporate Giving
Our dedication to giving back is reflected in significant contributions to organizations like Children’s Mercy and the Police Athletic League (PAL) of Kansas City, KS, where we witness the profound difference these funds make. With more than $100,000 donated to each organization annually, we see firsthand how our support helps children and families in need. By working closely with these nonprofits, we ensure our contributions are used where they’re needed most.
Employee Empowerment
But philanthropy at Basys isn’t just about corporate giving—it’s about empowering our employees to make a difference in their own unique ways. We provide each team member with the opportunity to direct $500 of company funds to the charities that matter most to them. Through this initiative, Basys has supported a wide range of organizations, including Always and Furever, Bags of Fun KC, Operation Breakthrough, PawsAbilities, Harvesters – The Community Food Network, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Unbound and the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation (WWIAF).
In addition to financial support, we encourage active community involvement. Every employee receives one day of PTO each year specifically for volunteering. Collectively, this translates to over 10 months of paid nonprofit service annually, giving our team members the chance to make a hands-on impact.
Meaningful Partnerships
Our commitment to meaningful, community-driven change is reflected in our ongoing partnerships with organizations that resonate deeply with our values. One such partnership is with the Children’s Mercy Big Slick Charity Event, a cause we proudly support that directly helps patients and their families. We also work closely with WWIAF to honor and support veterans and their families. At PAL of Kansas City, we serve dinner once a month to more than 100 children and parents in need, building strong community connections through direct action.
Our CEO, Brad Oddo, exemplifies the heart of our philanthropic efforts. As the grandson of immigrants, Brad understands the importance of giving back and fostering a united community. His involvement on the board of PAL of Kansas City reflects his deep commitment to local youth and his belief in strengthening the bond between the community and law enforcement.
Hands-On Charitable Efforts
Beyond financial donations, we are hands-on in our efforts to give back. Basys hosts annual food drives for Catholic Charities, ensuring that local families have access to essential resources. We also partner with the American Red Cross to host blood drives, contributing 107 pints of blood across three drives in 2023 alone. Additionally, our employees volunteer their time with Habitat for Humanity, actively building and improving homes for families in need.
