After competing with 38 local companies and four weeks of online voting, Basys has been named the Coolest Office Space in Kansas City via the Kansas City Business Journal. Basys made it to the final four round of companies with similarly sized spaces: Centralized Supply Chain Services, Cumulus Media and Let It Fly Media.
Readers selected Basys as the winner, with its 54,000 square feet of state-of-the-art amenities that was completed in 2021. The Lenexa, Kansas-based credit card processor has 123 employees in the office, which is equipped with a swing set table, a table made from the front end of a 1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and Don’s Market, a modern café featuring two Miele coffee machines and luxury appliances and finishes.
“I wanted to create an environment where we work hard, but it’s in a really fun space for our team,” CEO Brad Oddo told the Kansas City Business Journal. “The whole idea was, more of our awake time is in the office than at home, so I wanted to make it a fun, inviting, safe environment where people would actually want to come to.”
